What are your plans for the August bank holiday weekend. 

As some of us may have additional free time during this long weekend, we may consider using it to have a good clear out/sort or organise of things that we have been putting off.

Using some additional free time to go through your financial paperwork that you do not normally have the time to devote to, could make a big difference:

Things that we typically put off:

* Checking our bank statement thoroughly for any direct debits that should not be there or are duplicates

* Opening annual statement from Policy Providers that may have been put in the drawer unopened and review these

* Check policy documents for accuracy and suitability

* Shop around online for cheaper policies e.g (vehicle/home/life insurance)

* Compare returns on investments/savings and whether these are attracting the best on offer

This is only a short list of many, but small pockets of additional time can pay dividends in the long term if you use them to take care of your financial plans.
